"DEVPOLES Achieves Momentous Milestone: Igniting Haiti's First National Employment Survey in 15 years"
This survey is gathering comprehensive data on job seekers, employers, and labour market trends, both formal and informal. With 1500 households sampled and respondents aged 10+.
The survey, conceived by DEVPOLES and authorised by the Fonds d'Assistance Economique et Sociale under Inter-American Development Bank financing, marks a significant step towards our larger project "Renforcement des services d'intérmediation du travail du Ministère d'Affaires Sociales et du Travail", aimed at transforming and developing employment services in Haiti with a data-driven approach.
With it, DEVPOLES will ensure a thorough understanding of Haiti's employment landscape, a fundamental element for tailoring employment services to meet real labour market needs.
Survey findings will guide DEVPOLES specialists in designing new employment services based on current and foreseeable institutional capacities, and the socio-political situation of the country, specifically:
- A country-specific service model and approach for job seekers, facilitating their journey to meaningful employment and training.
- Acountry-specific service model and engagement strategy for employers, fostering better connections with job seekers.
- A strategic management plan for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, focusing on human resources, performance, motivation, and training to optimize employment services.
Additionally, technical advice will be provided to guide the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour throughout its implementation. Hands-on.
In line with the SDGs, DEVPOLES remains committed to leveraging these findings for positive change, promoting social inclusion and decent employment for Haitian youth and vulnerable groups.
